Teachings

Tony Samara, a mystic and spiritual teacher, offers profound teachings that resonate with the essence of love, wisdom, and divine union. His teachings convey timeless truths that touch the hearts of seekers across the ages, inspired by an ancient lineage of christian mysticism practiced by mystics known as the desert fathers and desert mothers.  Among his teachings, we find:

Embrace Love: Tony extols the power of love, urging us to surrender to its transformative force. Love is not transactional; it is boundless and generous, radiating like the sun, illuminating all in its path.

Let Go of Ego: In Tony's view, the egoic self is the root of suffering and separation. By shedding our egos, we open ourselves to unity and harmony with the universe, transcending duality and becoming one with the divine.

Embrace the Present: Tony encourages us to immerse ourselves in the present moment. By doing so, we liberate ourselves from regrets of the past and anxieties of the future, finding peace and contentment in the eternal now.

Seek the Divine Within: Tony reminds us that the divine dwells within each of us. To connect with this inner spark, we must seek it within ourselves and recognise it in others, realising the interconnectedness of all beings.

Revel in Mystery: The Spiritual teacher celebrates the mysteries of existence, encouraging us to embrace the unknown with joy and curiosity. By surrendering the need for answers, we can experience the awe and wonder of life's ineffable beauty.

Dance with Life: Tony invites us to approach life as a joyous dance, celebrating its highs and lows, victories, and setbacks. Embracing life's rhythm, we find freedom and grace in the dance of existence.

In essence, Tony's teachings guide us toward a path of love, self-discovery, and spiritual awakening, inspiring us to embark on a journey of profound transformation and union with the divine.

Saint Luke's Teaching

Why do you call me, “Lord, Lord,” and do not do the things which I say?
Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like.
He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock.
But he who hears, and does not do, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.
— Luke 6:46–49

In this passage, the teachings of Jesus about building a strong foundation resonate deeply with the mystical emphasis on the importance of living a life aligned with divine truths.

Mystics teach that true faith is not merely about hearing or knowing divine truths but about living them. To call Jesus “Lord” and not follow His teachings is to lack the substance of true faith. Genuine spirituality requires that we integrate divine wisdom into our daily actions.

The human who digs deep and lays his foundation on the rock represents someone who seeks to understand the deeper truths of divine wisdom and applies them to their life. In mystical terms, this rock signifies the Lord’s divine truth and love. By grounding ourselves in these principles, we build a spiritual life that can withstand trials and temptations, symbolized by the flood and stream.
The flood and stream represent the challenges and temptations we face in life. According to mystics, these are the forces that test our spiritual foundation. When our life is built on the solid foundation of divine truths, we remain steadfast and unshaken.
Building a house on the earth without a foundation symbolizes a superficial faith that is not rooted in genuine understanding or practice. This aligns with the mystical idea that faith without charity—faith that does not manifest in good works and love—is empty and unsustainable. When such a life faces difficulties, it quickly collapses, highlighting the importance of a strong spiritual foundation.
